All currently enrolled students, including the incoming 2023-2024 kindergarten class, will be able to remain at Palm Point until they matriculate.

By aligning with the St. Lucie Public School District, Palm Point will have access to a wide range of resources, including a comprehensive curriculum, special programs and a network of educators, the school district said.

Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, enrollment for open seats and incoming kindergarten will follow regular SLPS enrollment protocols rather than the lottery system previously used, and priority will be given to students closest to the school zone. The school is located at 10680 SW Academic Road.

Prince said in a news release. “Palm Pointe K8 is already a district-operated charter school, has an excellent history with district employees, and we look forward to a positive and productive collaboration in a win-win agreement.”

Other FAU lab schools are FAU High School, A.D. Henderson University School, the Karen Slattery Educational Research Center for Child Development, all in Boca Raton, and the Pine Jog Environmental Education Center in West Palm Beach.

Kathleen Perez, principal of the Palm Point Educational Research School of Tradition, said: “Being part of the St. Lucie Public Schools allows us to continue our tradition of excellence by expanding our educational offerings and fostering a strong sense of community with the local neighborhood. .” SLAM’s mission is to provide an innovative and in-depth postsecondary educational program that produces college-bound students with an emphasis on sports-related majors and post-secondary preparation.
