Hilton Grand Vacations Club is a timeshare resort located north of the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. The property was previously occupied by the El Rancho Vegas Hotel and Casino from 1941 until 1960, when it burned down. The land remained vacant until 2001, when Hilton Grand Vacations purchased part of the property and began construction on a 28-story tower.
Construction was postponed after the September 11 attacks, as hotels owned by the Hilton Hotels Corporation were financially affected by the lack of tourism due to the attacks. Reconstruction began in 2002, and the tower opened in February 2004. The second tower, 38 stories high, began construction later that year and was completed in 2006.
The property began in 1941 as the El Rancho Vegas Hotel and Casino, located on the southwest corner of South Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avue, an area that would become the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. El Rancho Vegas burned down in 1960. The Howard Hughes Corporation owned the 39-acre (16 ha) property from 1966 to 1995, when William Bennett purchased it. Bennett also owns the Sahara Hotel and Casino across the street. Bennett had the property for sale in 1999 and 2000, at $2.5 million per acre.

Hilton Grand Vacations – the timeshare subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corporation – purchased the 10-acre (4.0 hectare) property for $19.2 million.
That month, Hilton announced plans for a 33-story time-share complex with 1,500 units to be built on the property. Antoine Dagot, chief executive of Hilton Grand Vacations, said the new property will be “one of the largest vacation projects in the world.”
The new project will mark Hilton’s third property in Las Vegas, the other two being smaller vtures at the Flamingo and Las Vegas Hilton hotel-casinos. The north side of the Las Vegas Strip has received little development in recent years, with the latest project being the Stratosphere in 1996. Steph Bollbach, chief executive of Hilton Hotels, said, “We can be a leader in the revitalization of this section. The Strip, I think this will play an important role in continued development.” Although there is a vacant property near the Las Vegas Hilton, Bollbach said, “We think our customers want to be on the Strip, and we think this is a very good property.”
The first phase, expected to have 350 units, was launched 18 months later, with a construction cost of USD 111 million. The first phase will continue to expand gradually over the next decade, which will increase the number of units. Up to 1,500 according to the plan.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has over six hundred slot machines. If you are into high limit gaming, you have two options: Peacock High Limit Gaming is for VIPs, risk takers and big payers. Dragon Salon is where you will find blackjack, Pai How and Baccarat. If you are hungry, there are many restaurants. MB Steak is an upscale steakhouse, Asian Fusion serves authentic Asian cuisine and Nobu offers traditional Japanese cuisine that combines South American and Western flavors.
